Marcus Miller is featured on The Many Moods of Miles Davis, Part II: The Later Years, currently running on NPR and available online.

Miller and Wallace Roney “funk-out to Miles’ fusion” in a segment, while Nicholas Payton and Sophie Fraught cover Davis’ second great quintet on Wayne Shorter’s “Agitation”.

Christian McBride’s second tour of duty

Christian McBride, along with drummer Antonio Sanchez, is on tour with Pat Metheny’s Trio. McBride first played with Metheny in the early 90’s, but admits it didn’t go as well as this time around.

The Trio, together since 2003, is set to release their first album, “Day Trip”, in January, 2008.

Saturday, November 3rd, 2007

Jazz bassist Reuben Rogers and his group will perform at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY on Saturday, Nov. 4 at 8pm.

Bassist Scott Colley replaces Marc Johnson in John Abercrombie’s Third Quartet shows, November 5th and 6th at The Dakota, in Minneapolis.

John Patitucci is on the road, with a variety of bands and line-ups, including his own Trio.

And one we missed, worth repeating…
Lee Rocker, bassist for The Stray Cats, performed solo at the House Cafe in Delkalb, Illinois. Check out what he and the band have been up to.
