Sneak preview: Freekbass and Tobotius

Bassist Freekbass and DJ/producer Tobotius have teamed up to do a “micro-project”, set to launch this fall. The duo is planning to be slim and mobile, suitable for smaller clubs, festival side stages and late night slots, and support for national acts.

Freekbass brings his funky style and national history of playing festivals, clubs and colleges from coast to coast. Tobotius brings his style and history of producing and playing with the likes of funk master Bootsy Collins, alien guitarist Buckethead, and drummer Brain. Those three musicians have their own band called Science Faxtion which has gained national prominence.

Freekbass shared with us, “The resultant music is more edgy, techno infused jams with elements of hip hop, jam and entertaining samples- all layered over an infinite bass stream that Freekbass fans have come to expect. A full 75 minute show will be available by Fall 2009.”
