Kai Eckhardt: New Live Performances

Kai Eckhardt and Blue Coast Records producer Cookie Marenco hit the studio last week and recorded Kai performing four new solo pieces. The duo used a new recording technique called E.S.E. (Extended Sound Environment), which “brings the Live performance to you in a holographic sound experience”. The team used five microphones and Kai played three of his instruments during the session, and captured the sound of the entire room as a result.

You can stream the four recordings and purchase them from Blue Coast’s web site.

For this session, the recording team at OTR Studios helped setup a unique E.S.E. microphone placement. While Kai utilized 3 of his instruments we used a 5 microphone setup that captured the entire room as it vibrated with the sound of his instrument. Kai’s interpretations of his songs uses full dynamic range with no compression.

Kai says, “It’s all Kai in a stream of consciousness!”

In other news, Kai is offering a new mentorship program, and you can sign up from anywhere in the world.
