Jefferson Airplane: The Woodstock ExperienceIn celebration of Woodstock’s 40th anniversary this summer, Sony Legacy is releasing The Woodstock Experience, a collection of double CD sets from a variety of bands who performed at the landmark festival.

Each set includes the band’s 1969 album on one disc, and their complete festival performance on the other. This is the first time the complete concert recordings are available on CD.

Woodstock’s first confirmed act in 1969 was Jefferson Airplane, and their early Sunday morning performance including material from the band’s then-upcoming Volunteers album. The band’s lineup included Jack Casady on bass, Grace Slick and Marty Balin on vocals, Paul Kantner and Jorma Kaukonen on guitars and vocals, Nicky Hopkins on piano and Spencer Dryden on drums.
