Alex James: No plans for new Blur recordings

BBC News recently reported that the latest summer performances by Blur may mark the end of the band. Blur bassist Alex James comments: “That was what we said we’d do and we did it and it was great. It hasn’t been mentioned, the idea of doing anything else but hey, it was great.”

James has also commented on how overwhelming the audience reaction to the live performances was for the band. “I’ve spent the last week staring at a bonfire muttering to myself. I haven’t been able to contain the joy that it brought to all of us. It was very, very emotional. Everything we hoped it would be and more.” James continues, “What was amazing was the band’s and the audiences’ connection. Best gig we’ve ever done. Amazing.”

The two early July shows at London’s Hyde Park are going to be released as a limited-edition double CD. The band is currently accepting pre-orders.
