I believe that constructive criticism ( from your “peers” ) is a great tool to learn and advance as a serious musician. On a scale of 1 to 10 ( 10 being Jaco ), I give you a 4. I would also say keep playing and playing. Repetition is crucial when practicing. I learned this tune off of vinyl in the late 70's by ear. When I first heard “p o t”, my jaw dropped. Learn to read music, music theory and how to groove with a drummer and be the backbone of the all groups you play with. Good job! – Joel

Thanks for the feedback Mr. Clulla. I appreciate the honesty but i found it condescending telling me to to do and learn things i already do on a regular basis and know. Learn how to groove with a drummer?.. theory and read music? why did you automatically assume i didn't know how to do these things. if you would please link me to a video of you performing this song i want to hear you play.. thanks :-) sincerely Kilian Duarte

    Kilian,
    Your welcome for my comment.
You taking my comment as “condescending” ( as you put it), is wrong.
Just because I said “Learn to read music, music theory and how to groove with a drummer and be the backbone of the all groups you play with.”, doesn't mean – Kilian CAN'T grove with a drummer, read music or understand theory. I didn't say or imply it! I was solicited with an email from No Treble to view your performance and that you would like people to post a comment. As it looks…….you and I are the only ones to post comments.

Its sad that you have to criticize my solicited comment with a challenge just because you seem to be “offended” by some good solid advice.

Are you still a college student? Because quite frankly, your reply seems to be condescending, sophomoric and rude. You don't know me or my playing to offend me the way you have with your above public reply.

I'm a full time professional musician and get paid for my services.
With all due respect……. I've forgotten more than you know.

In closing and before this gets out of hand, you can contact me directly at [email protected] .if you really want my opinion of your playing.

    Best regards,

    Joel Ciulla

Apology accepted. I have had many “bad days” myself.

You've earned my respect with your apology.

Don't be discouraged by anyones criticism, especially mine. I would like to suggest you use criticism as a tool to ” better yourself “. Thats what I do.

    Friends,

    Joel

p.s.: I would of contacted you directly, but I didn't have your direct email.
