Scott Ford Benefit Show

Bassist Scott Ford (Twilight Singers, the Gutter Twins, Camp Freddy), has been suffering from an advanced bone loss disease making him susceptible to severe blood infections. To help with the rising medical bills guitarist and former The Cult member Billy Morrison decided to host a benefit show.

The Scott Ford Benefit Show is today, at The Roxy in Los Angeles.

The Scott Ford Benefit show has an all-star Los Angeles line-up including McKagan (Velvet Revolver, Duff McKagan’s Loaded), Dave Navarro (Jane’s Addiction), Scott Shriner (Weezer), Dave Kushner (Velvet Revolver), Chris Chaney (ex-Jane’s Addiction), Dulli, Morrison, Kenny Aronoff (John Mellencamp) and Wayne Kramer (MC5). Donovan Leitch (actor) and Steve O (“Jackass”) will emcee the event. All of the money raise will go towards paying Ford’s medical bills.

Guest musician McKagan had the following to say about the benefit show: “It’s one of those things that when you get a bunch of good players like that together, it’s always good… And you don’t want to rehearse too much because you’ll lose the brashness and the special-ness of coming together that evening and sorting it out on stage. It’s a great group of musicians and Scott Ford is a great guy. It’s a positive thing.”

We all hope that Ford has a speedy recovery and that the benefit show will help with the burden of his medical bills.
