Expando: the new album by The Eagles’ Timothy Schmit

Timothy Schmit: ExpandoEagles’ bassist Timothy Schmit is releasing his fifth solo album, Expando, on October 20th 2009.

Expando will feature guest artists Graham Nash, Dwight Yoakam and Kid Rock on background vocals, blues guitarists Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Keb’ Mo’, Van Dyke Parks on accordion, Gary Burton on vibes and keyboardists Garth Hudson of the Band and Benmont Tench of the Heartbreakers.

This album goes back to Schmit’s original love: folk music. Elements of the early influence of the Kingston Trio can be heard in Schmit’s music.

Other Eagles members are not on the album. Schmit recorded during an Eagles break.

Schmit will be starting a tour to support this album the day after the release. “I don’t have a big solo record of hits,” he said. “I’m going to hit this album a lot, and hopefully have a good time doing it.”

1. One More Mile
2. Parachute
3. Friday Night
4. Ella Jean
5. White Boy From Sacramento
6. Compassion
7. Downtime

I've followed Tim's career all the way back to his days in Poco. First rate talent. I hope this current tour brings him to the DC area.
