Mike Dirnt’s Alter Ego – Foxboro Hot Tubs!

Foxboro Hot TubsGreen Day’s alter ego, the Foxboro Hot Tubs, gave a few select fans the ultimate impromptu show on November 1st in London. The audience included fan club members, competition winners and some invited guests. According to bassist Mike Dirnt “The only reason you’re here is you didn’t go to church yesterday.”

The band, Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, Tre Cool, Jason White, Jason Freese and Kevin Preston, played the entire 2008 album Stop, Drop and Roll and threw in Green Day’s “Blood, Sex and Booze” as well as “Supermodel Robots” (from the other Green Day alter-ego band, The Network) according to NME.

The show was one of inebriated fun, the band played “Stop Drop and Roll” a total of six times in their set, convinced that their additional attempts were always better than their last. A few other covers, including tributes to the Ramones, Chuck Berry and The Who, were performed as well.

The Foxboro Hot Tubs released Stop, Drop and Roll in 2008, be sure to check out the official web site as well as MySpace for more on the band.
