Hulk Hogan: Bass Player for Hire

Hulk HoganBeing widely known for his prowess in “the cage” and his shirt ripping affinity, Hulk Hogan has recently spoken about his past dreams of bass stardom.

Hogan’s love for music and the bass guitar may be unknown to many of his wrestling fans, but says that long before wrestling was in his life, he wished to be in a successful band. So, it goes without surprise that he had contacted different groups, on more than one occasion, to be their bassist.

“When Metallica was looking for a bass player, I called and never heard a word back from them. I would have quit wrestling in a heartbeat to be a bass player for Metallica,” Hogan states.

It didn’t stop there.

“I was in England presenting an award with Jerry Hall, Mick Jagger’s ex, and she told me the Rolling Stones were looking for a bass player,” Hogan said. “I sent her a ton of merchandise that she asked for and said ‘Tell Mick I’m a great bass player.’ I never heard a word back.”

While the idea of “The Hulkster” playing for a world-renowned band may be interesting to our ears, the premise of bass reaching so many places and capturing the hearts of those that pick it up, is always a welcomed thought. Hopefully, this idea will spread like wildfire, and before we know it, bass will be taking over the world.

Or at least that Hulk will find a band. Here’s his demo reel:
