King Crimson: Lizard 40th Anniversary Edition

King Crimson: LizardKing Crimson’s Lizard is turning 40. In celebration, the band is releasing a new and expanded reissue of the 1970 album on January 12, 2010 (preorder).

Steven Wilson remastered the CD in 5.1 Surround Sound from the original studio masters and the mix and release is approved by guitarist Robert Fripp. Three extra tracks are included, plus a DVD-A featuring a 5.1 DTS Mix and a High Resolution Stereo Mix (24bit).

The line up for Lizard includes Gordon Haskell (vocals, bass); Robert Fripp (guitar, Mellotron, electric keyboards); Mel Collins (flute, saxophone); Andy McCulloch (drums); Peter Sinfield. Additional personnel: Jon Anderson (vocals); Robin Miller (oboe); Mark Charig (cornet); Nick Evans (trombone); Kevin Tippet (piano).

Muze calls Lizard “the third album in the trilogy that makes up Crimson’s first phase, which began with In the Court of the Crimson King.”
