WesFest 5 Benefit Concert announced, with Tal Wilkenfeld

WesfestBryan Beller recently updated us on the next WesFest Benefit Concert, now in its fifth year. The concert is in honor of Wes Wehmiller, a Berklee grad and good friend of Beller who passed away in 2005 from thyroid cancer. Each year, the concert raises funds for a scholarship endowed in Wehmiller’s name at Berklee.

The scholarship winner from the previous year performs at the benefit concert, along with a list of notable bassists and friends of Wehmiller. So far, WesFests have raised $50,000 for the scholarship fund.

This year’s goal is to raise $20,000, and they’ve put together an incredible line up to help deliver on that goal. Tal Wilkenfeld is headlining the show, and there will be performances by John Montagna, Joe Brooks, Danny Mo & the Exciters (featuring 2009 Wehmiller Scholarship Winner Justin Schornstein), and The WesFest All-Stars (featuring Mike Keneally, I, Claudius, Beller, Tamara Silvera, Kira Small, and Ali Handal).
