Ain’t That Peculiar: Just the bass and drums

Although not technically a video, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to share this gem.

This is the audio track for Marvin Gaye’s “Ain’t That Peculiar”, with the bass and drums isolated from the original Motown master tape.

The bass, of course, is played by James Jamerson. We believe Uriel Jones is the drummer on the track.

John Joseph says:

Awesome! I started playing bass guitar in 1970 the 8th grade and never realized until very many years later who this man was and how greatly he influenced my playing and life. The British invasion was great, but growing up in Philly and the Mo Town sound was extremely cooool!
JJ still playing and recording.
