Slayer Announces Rescheduled Dates After Araya’s Surgery

Tom ArayaIn early January, we reported that Slayer frontman Tom Araya was scheduled to have back surgery, and that the band’s American and Canadian Carnage Tour had to be rescheduled. Araya had his procedure on May 20th, and the masters of metal have announced their make-up dates, which will occur after a European trek.

In his first interview since going under the knife, Araya told NoiseCreep that his back injury was the result of “decades of headbanging”. Although the surgery was a success and he can still play and sing as well as ever, he vouches not to headbang anymore.

Slayer is also set to appear on the Jimmy Kimmel Live! Show on May 20th.
