Steve Vai: Where the Other Wild Things Are, with Bryan Beller
Steve Vai has released Where the Other Wild Things Are, the official companion CD to the Live in Minneapolis: Where the Wild Things Are (see our previous coverage). “Other” features 12 tracks from the 2007 String Theories tour that didn’t appear on the first CD.
Vai is joined by Bryan Beller on bass, Alex DePue and Ann Marie Calhoun on violin, Jeremy Colson on drums, Dave Weiner on guitar and sitar and Zack Wiesinger on lap steel.
The CD includes Passion & Warfare tunes, including “Liberty”, “Answers”, “The Audience Is Listening” and “For The Love Of God”, and new tunes like “The Crying Machine” and the power-trio song, “Juice” (Beller’s favorite to play each night).
Beller says, “The mix is super-bass-friendly (thanks Steve!) just like it was on the previous release, and if you’re into this stuff it’s a must have.”
