Pearl Jam Bassist to Judge Art Contest for Charity

Jeff AmentPearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament is joining up with the Montana Meth Project’s 2010 Paint the State art contest. The project was started to create community action programs designed to reduce the use of methamphetamine in Montana.

Ament grew up in Big Sandy, Montana, where his father was mayor for 15 years and attended the University of Montana, where he studied art and played basketball, before co-founding Pearl Jam.

The contest deadline is on June 30, 2010, and the art will be displayed from July 19th through the 23rd for judging. Winners will be announced on August 20, 2010. The grand prize is $5,000. Each of Montana’s 56 counties will award prizes, with $1,500 for first place, $1,000 for second place and $500 for third place.

Like I said on facebook, seeing Pearl Jam live will be awesome… I never knew he could actually play basketball by the way!
Does anyone know what kind of art he will be submitting?
