Bassist Matt Rubano, the former bassist of Taking Back Sunday, recently confirmed that he is working with Patrick Stump in the development of his new solo album. Stump is the frontman for Fall Out Boy. Rubano said on Friends Or Enemies Radio that “We’ve been talking about helping to put the band together to go on tour for his record.”
Rubano was with Taking Back Sunday from 2003 until this past March. He and guitarist Matt Fazzi were let go from the band after the seven year run so that original members Shaun Cooper and John Nolan could re-join the group.
Rubano is excited about the opportunity to work with Stump, stating that he is “a mountain of talent” and that “we’re both kind of these weird secret jazz fans that ended up in rock bands.”
