Tal Wilkenfeld has announced she will be featured on three upcoming albums. The Australian bass phenom has been busy working in the studio with Herbie Hancock, Macy Gray, and Lee Ritenour on their latest projects.
Herbie Hancock’s The Imagine Project sees Wilkenfeld collaborating on the songs “A Change is Gonna Come” (featuring James Morrison), and “Don’t Give Up” (featuring John Legend and Pink) and she also performs on Macy Gray’s tune “That Man” from Gray’s The Sellout. Both albums are due June 22nd.
Wilkenfeld also got the chance to work on Lee Ritenour’s Six String Theory (releases June 29th). The CD is a who’s who of guitar superstars of all styles, and the tracks that Wilkenfeld worked on included guitarists Slash, Steve Lukather, Neal Schon, Lee Ritenour, Joe Bonamassa, and Robert Cray. She also has a solo on the track “Fives,” written by Guthrie Govan.
