Eagles of Death Metal’s Brian O’Connor Battling Cancer

Eagles of Death Metal bassist Brian O’Connor is reportedly scheduled to undergo surgery in Los Angeles for his recently diagnosed cancer. O’Connor is encouraged about his prognosis and released the following statement to his fans:

“With the remarkable support and love from my amazing friends and family, I am receiving the best medical and moral attention one could ask for. I cannot thank everyone enough for their continued support and involvement.”

Due to his treatment, O’Connor is forced to miss the Eagles of Death Metal’s current tour. Bassist Dean Ferita (Queens of the Stone Age and Dead Weather) is going to be filling in for the missed shows. Additional support for O’Connor is coming from Them Crooked Vultures’ Dave Grohl, John Paul Jones and Josh Homme. They have announced new shows in L.A. and London to raise money for O’Connor’s medial bills, he is currently uninsured.
