Bootsy Collins Releases Single To Benefit Musician’s Fund

The Catfish NationBootsy Collins has released a new single to benefit his late brother’s memorial fund, the Catfish Nation Musicians Fund.

The track, appropriately titled The Catfish Nation, features Bootsy, his son Ouiwey, and Catfish Collins himself.

The Catfish Nation Musician’s Fund was set up not only to help with Catfish’s expenses, but to “provide for musicians that fall on hard times and possibly need assistance with medical costs and funeral expenses.”

Catfish Collins, who played along with Bootsy through his days with James Brown, P-Funk, and the Rubber Band, passed away early August from cancer. Bootsy is also throwing a free celebration concert at the Madison Theater in Covington, Kentucky on September 4. Though the event is free, donations to the Catfish Nation Musician’s fund are deeply appreciated. For more, visit Bootsy’s website.
