Tony Kanal Speaks on New No Doubt Album and Tour

No DoubtNo Doubt’s Tony Kanal took the time to speak with press last week during bandmate Gwen Stefani’s fashion show in NYC, saying that the band is revving up for a new album and tour.

The ska-rock band is still in the process of writing their sixth studio album, which will be their first new material since 2001’s Rock Steady.

Kanal reports that it’s going well.

“I swear, we’re having more fun than we’ve ever had writing a record before,” he said. “I think [because] it’s been a while, but also because we’re older… the fact that we’re still doing it together after 24 years — you know, working on music — I think we really appreciate that.”

No Doubt reunited for a U.S. tour last summer, but the bassist reports that their next trek will dwarf their last outing.

“I think it’ll be even bigger, and when I say bigger I mean more shows and around the world.”
