John Paul Jones: New Them Crooked Vultures Album on the Way

John Paul JonesThough the rock supergroup Them Crooked Vultures is on break while the band members return to their main gigs, bassist John Paul Jones says the trio will be regrouping soon for their second album.

In an interview with BBC 6 Music, the former Led Zeppelin member explained that the process shouldn’t take long.

“Some stuff we’ve worked on, but we’re gonna write pretty quickly and just put it down… we may be a year or so,” he said. “It will mainly be excess material from the first album, material we started and never finished because we had to go and play the stuff we already recorded!”

The group is on hiatus while Dave Grohl continues work with the Foo Fighters. Jones joked that he “might gate crash one of their gigs I think… if he asks!”

JPJ will be keeping busy himself, saying he will play at the Royal Opera House in February for a new opera based on the life of Anna Nicole Smith.
