King’s X Releases “Live In London”
American rock band King’s X has released their first-ever live concert DVD, Live in London. The release, offered in a deluxe 2 CD/1 DVD box set or as a 2 CD release, was filmed in January 2009 at the Electric Ballroom in London.
The band, featuring bassist/vocalist Dug Pinnick, guitarist/vocalist Ty Tabor and drummer/vocalist Jerry Gaskill, say the UK audiences were the ones that first accepted them.
“London was the first place that accepted King’s X. It has always been my favorite place to play,” said Tabor.
Pinnick recalls, “We were touring the US, playing for very small crowds, then we went to London; it was the Marquee and it was sold out!”
Gaskill agrees, “London was the first place to make me feel like we might actually be a valid band.”
King’s X’s unique sound comes from their blend of progressive metal, funk and soul music mixed with vocals influenced by gospel, blues and ’60’s-style British pop groups. The band has enjoyed a career spanning more than 20 years, with twelve studio albums.
