Here’s the original Return to Forever line up, performing for German TV in early 1974 – without an audience!
Guitarist Bill Connors, who was soon replaced by Al Di Meola, is present along with Stanley Clarke, Chick Corea and Lenny White.
Sadly, the camera operators and/or editor decided not to focus on Clarke very much during the first half of the clip, but you can hear him loud and clear.
Seems so strange to see Stan with a Rick, he still sounds great tho

I’ve never seen Stanley play anything but Alembic! The Ric he’s playing is a 4000. It looks just like the 4001 that most people have, but it only has one pickup & 2 knobs.
Love listening to Return to Forever but , the Video needs some work! Kool stuff!!!! :^D
