David Binney: Graylen Epicenter

David Binney: Graylen EpicenterSaxophonist and composer David Binney has released his latest album, Graylen Epicenter. Binney enlisted a terrific supporting cast for the album, including bassist Eivind Opsvik, guitarist Wayne Krantz, drummer Brian Blade and others.

This is one diverse album, covering a huge spectrum of jazz styles from many eras. Binney’s bandmates really bring a lot to this diversity as well, adding to the leader’s excellent writing.

Originally from Norway, Opsvik has been living in New York for over 10 years, and performs primarily on the upright bass. In addition to his work with Binney, Opsvik leads his own band, Overseas, performs in a pop duo with guitarist Aaron Jennings, and is working on his solo album in addition to other projects.
