Tedeschi Trucks Band: Midnight In Harlem, Live with Oteil Burbridge

Oteil Burbridge lays down one tasty groove behind Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi in this live performance of “Midnight in Harlem”, recorded at the 2010 Crossroads Guitar Festival at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, IL. This tune was written by Tedeschi Trucks Band vocalist Mike Matteson.

Kevin sent this to me, and I’ve lost count on how many times I’ve watched it. Bet you’ll watch it more than once too.

  11. My favorite live version of any TTB song. Brings me to tears.

  12. It’s really fantastatic bass playing by Oteil and I did a transcription of it two years ago for a lesson about so-called line-clichés (which describes the underlying chord-structure of the tune). You can find the transcription here:

  13. I love Oteil. I’ve seen him with Aquarium Rescue Unit,Frogwings and The ABB…..but Derek is a freak….amazing the best !
