Marcus Miller is holding a special concert to benefit Japanese Tsunami relief efforts. The event, to be held at New York City’s Highline Ballroom on May 15 at 7:30pm, features a host of talent, including performances by Raheem DeVaughn, Robert Glasper, Sean Jones, Angélique Kidjo, Gregoire Maret, Raul Midon, Q-Tip, Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson, Kaoru Watanabe, Louis Cato, Alex Han, Federico Gonzalez Peña, Vince Wilburn, Wallace Roney, and more. Net proceeds from the evening will be donated to the Japan Relief and Recovery Fund, care of Direct Relief.
“My heart goes out to the people of Japan who are suffering through the effects of the earthquake and tsunami,” says Miller, who has a strong Japanese fan base. “So many musicians like me have enjoyed the love and support of Japanese music lovers over the years. We’re putting this show together to try to return some of that love and support in their time of need.”
Tickets for the concert are $45 for advance general admission and $75 for reserved VIP seating. For more info, visit the Highline Ballroom website.
