Samson Releases CT20 Clip-On Tuner

Samson CT20 Clip-On TunerSamson has a new clip on tuner called the CT20, featuring a dual 360 degree ball jointed clip for viewing at almost any angle. It clips on to your headstock (bridge if you play upright), and has a full color LCD display for ease of visibility.

The tuner detects pitch with either the built-in mic or the piezo sensor, and can be calibrated between A 410 and 490Hz. For ease, the CT20 has bass, guitar and chromatic tuning modes with flat/drop tuning/transposition settings.

The Samson CT20 runs on a CR20302 battery and has auto power-off and energy saving functions to make the power last. It’s available now for $29.00.

I was very excited when I saw the large box display on the counter. The packaging and presentation is amazing. The tuner looks great but 3 things bugged me on the the product.

1) The item has questionable accuracy (apparently that’s the nature of the beast) of these types of tuners

2) Too much on the screen. They fit so much graphics that you cant tell what functions are on or off. (Many are too small)

3) Buttons on the back…should have put all the buttons on the side or top
