Miles Davis Quintet: Live in Europe 1967 – The Bootleg Series Vol. 1

Miles Davis Quintet: Live in Europe 1967 - The Bootleg Series Vol. 1Miles Davis toured Europe many times during the 1960s with some of the most legendary bands of his career. Sony/Legacy is introducing some previously unreleased footage from that era, with a new series of “bootleg” recordings.

Live in Europe 1967 – The Bootleg Series Vol. 1 features Davis’ “second quintet”, including the all-star cast of Ron Carter on bass, Wayne Shorter on sax, Herbie Hancock on keys and Tony Williams on drums. The recordings were gathered from original TV and radio broadcasts, recorded over five European concerts over nine days in October and Novembet, 1967.

The four disc set includes three CDs and one hour-long DVD, featuring some of the only documented live performances of songs from Davis’ 1965 to 1967 albums E.S.P., Miles Smiles, Sorcerer and Nefertiti. The set also includes some earlier Davis classics such as “Round Midnight”, “On Green Dolphin Street” and “I Fall In Love Too Easily and No Blues”, each with their own unique spin from the original studio versions.
