Gigantour 2012 Dates Announced
The Gigantour is returning in 2012 for a fourth North American offering, and the first since Gigantour 3 in 2008. Organized by headliners Megadeth, this year’s lineup includes metal icons Motörhead, Lacuna Coil and Volbeat. The tour kicks off January 26th, 2012 in Camden, New Jersey, then snakes around the Northeast before heading to Canada and the Northern U.S. and finally winding up in Denver, Colorado in late February.
Metal bass fans are sure to get an earful from Megadeth’s Dave Ellefson, Motörhead’s Lemmy Kilmister, Lacuna Coil’s Marco Coti Biazzi and Volbeat’s Anders Kjølholm.
Kilmister says the somewhat eclectic mix will give the fans just what they want.
“Megadeth are one of the greatest bands to tread a stage anywhere and me and Dave have been promising each other we’d tour together ever since we met,” Kilmister said. “We’ve done festivals in Europe with Lacuna Coil and they’re workaholics as well! Volbeat are great too; the whole bill is pretty diverse and I advise everyone who likes being deaf, and/or can lip-read already, to come out and see what the stuff that doesn’t get any MTV Video Awards sounds like! Gigantour is just that!”
