Marcus Miller: Power, Live at the 2008 Lugano Jazz Festival

Marcus Miller is one bad dude, and here’s just a little more evidence.

In this clip, taken from Switzerland’s Lugano Jazz Festival in 2008, the bass icon rips through the aptly named tune “Power.”

The rest of his band includes Alex Han on Saxophone, Jason “JT” Thomas on Drums, and Federico Gonzales Pena on Keyboards.

  3. Yeah mate, everything’s really groovy, Except Lugano is in Switzerland, not Sweden.

  4. Marcus and Bootsy are the two who gave me inspiration to play again after my three strokes. So much so that I went out and bought me a Marcus Miller Fender Jazz. Same natural color. So what happened? I kept at it and now am part of the R&B/Funk RYG Gospel Band and we’re going in the studio real soon. I ain’t trying to steal no thunder from Marcus or anyone. Just wanted to say that he’s been an inspiration. Pulled me out of a deep depression and got me motivated and back on track. So, yeah, I’m a fan to say the least. I still want to learn and play “Run For Cover” the way he does.

  5. nothing like miller. It got me back to playing.

  6. He squeezes out the best tones from his Jazz….I’d love to see his complete signal path & rack setup with the EBS cabinets – is that available somewhere?
