B.C. Rich Unveils Two New Basses for 2012

B.C. Rich rolled out a pair of new basses for NAMM 2012: the Widow 4 Bass and the Greg Weeks Signature Bass.

B.C. Rich 2012 Widow 4 Bass

The 2012 Widow 4 bass is a 4-string version of their existing WMD Widow. With a radical body shape and red pinstripes, the bass is designed to resemble the killer Black Widow spider. It features neck-through construction with a mahogany neck and body. The fingerboard is ebony and sports 24 jumbo frets.

For electronics, the Widow 4 has a pair of active EQ black P-style pickups.

B.C. Rich Greg Weeks Signature Bass

The Red Chord bassist Greg Weeks specced out his new signature model, which is built with a mahogany body and Hawaiian koa veneer. The bass is also a neck-through, with a maple neck and rosewood fingerboard.

Other features include a Traben Technology Bridge, a pair of Rockfield Bass Humbuckers, and chrome hardware.

  1. With price tags that low it does make me wonder about quality. Not that I’d personally consider buying them.

  2. really prices like this make you wonder about quality? I bought a brand new B.C.Rich Revenge 4 string bass for about $400, I couldn’t be any happier with it, so really $699-$999 you should be jumping at this offer.

  3. “Perhaps” it’s the Fenders that are too expensive ?.. lol
    ( I got a US one, really happy with it ;))
