Ashdown Unveils ABM-1000 and ABM-2000 Amps at NAMM

Ashdown has expanded their ABM line of amps with introduction of the ABM-1000 and ABM-2000. The pair couples the company’s ABM Evo III preamp with Class D amplifiers to pump out 1000 and 2000 watts, respectively.

Both amps carry a unique EQ that combines rotary knobs with a pair of dual sliders. The knobs cut and boost at 60Hz, 660Hz, and 5kHz, while the sliders give 15dB of boost at 180Hz, 340Hz, 1.3kHz and 2.6kHz. It can be controlled by footswitch for easily switching up your tone during a performance.

Other features for the amps include an on-board compressor, a sub-harmonic generator, a front-mounted DI, a tuner output, an FX loop, and a line input for playing external sources.

The Ashdown ABM-1000 and ABM-2000 are due out soon with street prices around $1,499 and $2,299. For more info, check out the Ashdown website.

  1. I’m sure that there is no one in the world that will ever find themselves in a situation where a 2,000 Watt amp is necessary. That being said, now that Ashdown has made one, people will flock to it just to say that they own something that loud. Although I’m still happy with my 550 Spyder.

  2. this is absolutely insane. 2000 watts. what is the reasoning behind it? my 500 watt G-K MB500 does the trick with 1/4 of the power!

  3. for sure – my Ashdown EVO II 500 is plenty of headroom for me. The most I have ever turned the post gain up to is 11:00 position, running it throuth a 4-ohm SWR 6×10 cab. 2000 watts is unneccesary in my opinion. ?

  4. They don’t publish it in the manual but I’m guessing the slew rate of the amp makes what ever cab u put on it will give nice clean punchy sound.
