Revolver Golden Gods Awards ShowRevolver Magazine has announced the nominees for their 4th Annual Golden Gods awards show, which honors members of the hard-rock and heavy-metal community. The Golden God award, which is given to one special honoree each year, will be presented to KISS bassist Gene Simmons for “embodying the spirit of hard rock and metal.”

“It’s an honor and privilege to accept the Golden God Award,” the bassist said in a statement. “A God is only as powerful as the faithful who worship him. Signed GOD OF THUNDER.”

Simmons and KISS are set to release their 20th studio album, Monster, this June.

The awards show also has a category for best bassist, named after late Slipknot member Paul Gray. The nominees this year are Anthrax’s Frank Bello, Chickenfoot’s Michael Anthony, Korn’s Fieldy, Megadeth’s David Ellefson, Sixx:A.M.’s Nikki Sixx, and Van Halen’s Wolfgang Van Halen.

The Revolver Golden Gods Awards Show takes place April 11th and will be broadcast live in its entirety on Xbox Live and the magazine’s Facebook page. For more, visit Revolver’s Golden Gods awards show page.
