Modulus Introduces Funk Persuasion Model Bass

Modulus Guitars has released their 2012 product catalog including the new Funk Persuasion, which the company describes as having “Funk Unlimited Feel with the classic P sound.” The design includes the same top routed body as their Funk Unlimited model equipped with a Bartolini P pickup.

Modulus Funk Persuasion Model Bass

The Funk Persuasion features bolt-on construction with an alder body and carbon fiber neck. Its phenolic compound fingerboard has a compound radius and holds 22 frets. Available in Black or Chrome, the bass’s standard hardware is a Hipshot Type-B bridge and Gotoh Sealed tuners with a 20:1 gear ratio.

The Modulus Funk Persuasion can be made with a variety of finishes and options at a list price of $3,249.

  1. I know it’s a modulus, but taking into account that it has such a “basic” configuration and nothing really special about the model, it is quite expensive, IMO.

  2. why would you want the funk feel without the funk sound?

  3. You want the P Bass sound. Get a P Bass.

  5. I agree with daniel. you can get the funk out of any bass with tehnique and a good system. nothing special.

  6. You can easily take a standard PBass, dump in a Bartolini and the Badass and achieve the same result especially running DR 045-105 Hi-Beams. If I were to do it, I’d just add the Bartolini in addition to the standard pickup and put a toggle switch below. Same sound for a whole lot less than half that price. Techniue and system, as Alfredo said.
