Vox Introduces Apache Series Bass Guitars

Vox has expanded their bass lineup with the Apache series of basses, which pick up where their predecessors from the ’60s left off. The new travel instruments are separated by body shape, as the Apache 1 Bass features Vox’s classic Teardrop shape while the Apache 2 Bass features their Phantom body style.

Vox Apache I Bass - 3-tone sunburst

Both models have an onboard amplification system complete with a 4? speaker, a built-in E-string tuner, and 66 built-in rhythm patterns that the company says are ideal for training as well as accompaniment. Controls for the amplification system include Gain, Tone, Master Volume, and a Bright switch. For further connectivity, an Aux In and headphone output are provided for silent practice, but the Apache basses also have traditional outputs for playing through regular bass amps. Powered by six AA batteries, the system can run for up to 26 hours of playing time.

Vox Apache II Bass - black

Both basses are available in White, Seafoam, and Salmon Red, though the Apache 1 also comes in 3-tone Sunburst where the Apache 2 comes in Black. The Vox Apache Series Basses will be shipping in November with a street price of $349.

  1. Bring back the Guitorgan! MIDI with Taurus Mini!

  2. It would be fun just to have the Apache1 for holidays :)

  3. Cool idea, but the body shapes are hideous and are uncomfortable.

  4. I don’t care if it’s mostly useless. I must have one.

  5. I’d say FUCK YOU VOX! Those basses are an insult for us, bass players. Period. Good bye.

  6. 4″ speaker for a Bass? really? nice concept, but how good can it possibly sound?

  7. Yea chill out Alejandro, this serves a perfect fuction for me — instead of accompanying my acoustic guitar bandmates with a big, unfomfortable, and drum-less acoustic bass (i.e. for “street musican” gigs), I can rock with this and be the whole rhythm section myself. Bring it!
