Fodera is finishing out their Standard series of basses with the Monarch 4 Standard. Similar to the Matt Garrison, Emperor 5, and Yin Yang Standard basses, the new model is built in batch and offered in a single configuration with no options in order to keep the price and wait time down.
The Monarch 4 Standard is built with a medium weight ash body topped by 5A Bi-color flame maple, a quartersawn Hard Rock Maple neck, and an old-growth Pau Ferro fingerboard. The combination, Fodera suggests, is a mixture of ingredients suitable for virtually any gig. Electronics include a set of Fodera’s dual coil pickups and the Fodera/Pope 3-band Standard preamp with the Emperor standard control layout.
The Fodera Monarch 4 Standard will be officially unveiled October 20th at Bass Player Live with the first basses expected to be shipping on January 1st, 2013. It’s priced at $4,750 and will be available direct and through the company’s dealer network. For more info, check out the Fodera website.
