Meet Ankadiov Subran, a bassist from Indonesia who made it easy to select him as reader spotlight with a single line in his profile: “My dad bought me a bass guitar, I threw my guitar away, and I’ve played the bass ever since.”
You can’t beat that. Ankadiov is our player in the spotlight for the week of November 27, 2012.
I’ve enjoyed listening to good music since I was a kid, and that’s my only reason to play the bass: to make a really good music. I never really tried to do a “masterpiece” bass solo or anything. I’m 22 years old and today, I’ve played with many artist in Indonesia (I’ve gathered my vids on my Youtube page – see below). I perform many genres such as jazz, gospel, funk, R&B, rock, blues, pop, reggae, fusion, etc.
In the present, I currently do some recordings for many Indonesian singers, bands, including my own , Indonesian Youth Regeneration (IYR) – and my bass-sax duet project, RhythmSaxion.
Bass player, Arranger, Producer, and last but not least, a student.
Bands & Gigs:
IYR (Indonesian Youth Regeneration) an album should be released by 2013
RhythmSaxion, still record stuffs, hopefully released also by 2013
And a lot of session calls (performing and recording).
