Mercury Records Reissues Rush’s “2112”

Rush 2112 Super Deluxe Edition CD + Audio Blu-Ray box setThis week is a big week for Rush some nerds fans as Friday’s date is December 21, 2112… or “December 21/12”, as they say.

And just in time for the celebration, Mercury Records has reissued Rush’s classic 1976 album.

The reissue is available in two packages: a Deluxe Edition, with CD + Audio Blu-Ray or CD + Audio DVD formats and a Super Deluxe Edition CD + Audio Blu-Ray box set.

The Deluxe Edition feature the completely remaster 2112 album, with three live bonus tracks. The DVD and Blu-Ray audio discs offer 5.1 surround sound audio mix. The Deluxe package also includes new liner notes by Rolling Stone magazine’s David Fricke, unpublished photos and an interactive comic book.

Rush 2112 Reissue album coverThe Super Deluxe edition includes the CD/Blu-Ray discs with a 40-page comic book which represents each of the album’s songs. The Super Deluxe set is packaged in a hardbound case.

The three bonus tracks include a performance of “Overture” and “The Temples of Syrinx” at the Northland Coliseum in Edmonton, Aberta on June 25, 1981 and “A Passage To Bangkok” at the Manchester Apollo in Manchester, England on June 17, 1980.

Rush is also simultaneously releasing the comic book in iBook format, designed for the iPad.

  1. A great band. I saw them do 2112, awesome live show. I went to the concert to see UFO and when I heard/saw Rush I became an instant fan.
