Black Crowes End Hiatus With 2013 Tour

The Black CrowesThe Black Crowes will be breaking a three-year hiatus in 2013 with a Spring tour of the UK and United States. The “Lay Down With Number 13” tour kicks off at the Manchester Academy on March 24th with four more UK dates before hopping the pond to tackle New York City and the U.S.

This will be the band’s first outing since their 20th anniversary tour in 2010. Their current lineup includes lead vocalist Chris Robinson, guitarist Rich Robinson, drummer Steve Gorman, keyboardist Adam Macdougall and bassist Sven Pipien. Pipien first joined the band in 1998 for two years, and rejoined during their first return from hiatus in 2005. The group also announced the addition of guitarist/vocalist Jackie Greene for the trek.

In addition to the tour, The Black Crowes revealed a new live album called Wiser for the Time will be released on March 19th on vinyl and digital formats. The album will contain 26 songs – 15 acoustic and 11 electric – from their five-night, sold out New York City performance in the Fall of 2010.
