Black Sabbath Reveal Details of New Album and Warm Up Tour Dates

Black Sabbath has offered up new details about their new album, which will feature original members of singer Ozzy Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi and bassist Geezer Butler. The new release will be titled 13 and will be dropping in June, 2013, according to the official Black Sabbath website.

The post also revealed that the band recorded the album in Los Angeles with producer Rick Rubin. Rage Against the Machine’s Brad Wilk filled the shoes of original drummer Bill Ward, who left the reunion due to contract disputes. 13 will also mark the group’s return to the Vertigo label.

Black Sabbath will be warming up for the big release with tour dates, the first of which will be in New Zealand, Australia, and Japan.

  • May 12, 2013: Tokyo, Japan – Ozzfest – Makuhari Messe

  2. It really sucks that Bill’s not part of this. I mean, it really, REALLY sucks. That said, it’s 3 out of 4 of the original badasses, the real deal. We have Ozzy’s unmistakable vocals, the all-important riffmaster Tony Iommi, and the awesome bass of Geezer. So, I’m still excited about it. Not nearly as much as I’d be if Bill was part of it, but I’m a little excited. m/
