EBS Announces Billy Sheehan Signature Drive Pedal

EBS Billy Sheehan Signature Drive PedalEBS will be debuting their latest offering for bassists at next week’s NAMM Show, the Billy Sheehan Signature Drive Pedal. Designed along with the bassist himself, the new pedal mixes clean and distorted signals together to preserve low frequencies to “find balance between distortion and definition.”

“This pedal is a distillate of several important principles in the signal chain for bass. Compression, distortion, tone-shaping and blending all together,” Sheehan said.

On top of the Drive, Tone, Level, and Clean controls for dialing in your tone, the pedal has a built-in compressor with High, Mid, and Off settings. The level of compression for the Mid setting can be set by the user through an internal trim pot.

The pedal also features separate clean and drive loops that allow for inserting any other effect with each loop to add character to it. EBS gives the examples of adding a graphic EQ to the drive to change the character of the distortion or adding a compressor to the clean loop to use instead of the built-in one.

The EBS Billy Sheehan Signature Drive will be officially released on January 25th at NAMM with a street price of $199. For more info, check out the EBS Sweden website.
