Avenged Sevenfold’s Johnny Christ has joined Schecter’s artist roster and has a new signature bass with the company. The Schecter Johnny Christ Signature Bass features a brand new body shape and headstock.

Built with an ash body, 3-piece maple neck and ebony fingerboard, the new bass is decked out in black with gold hardware. The hardware is accented by gold bone cross inlays for position markers as well as Avenged Sevenfold’s Skullbat logo at the 12th fret.

For pickups, the bass has an active EMG MMCS dual coil and an EMG 81. Schecter says the combination create a tone “designed with detailed intensity, incredible amounts of high end cut and fluid sustain.” The pickups are matched with an EMG 2-band EQ.

The Schecter Johnny Christ Signature Bass will be debut at NAMM and will carry an MSRP of $1,399. For more info, check out the Schecter website.

  1. Brand new body shape? Looks alot like a Stargazer body to me.

  2. an emg 81? why a guitar pickup on a bass?

  3. Tacky as hell. Schecter is stuck so far up A7X’s ass it’s embarrassing. They have a nice string of artists that use and endorse their products, yet they continue to worship the absolute pinnacle of mediocre hard rock/”metal” that is called Avenged Sevenfold.

  4. Some of you sound so bitter (& I usually cover that). It’s a good fit & so is the new Nikki Sixx for that matter. Schecter makes good rock instruments & relate well to these guys. Just give a thought to the fact that Johnny’s coming from playing Musicman & Nikki’s been with Gibson. Both huge manufacturers of higher end products that are well established. Schecter can & will please them both as well as provide more affordable basses to their followings. Like it or not, Schecter has carved its’ nitch in the rock world because that’s who they are. Regardless of how much better bass players everyone thinks they are, both Johnny Christ & Nikki Sixx are both significant influences in today’s world of rock bass, each in their own way. I wish them all the best.

  5. I’m not against a guitar pickup, or even an EMG, but why a 81? And not a 60 or a 85 which are way more useable…
