Le Fay Updates ROB 344-66/IIIa Bass Guitar

Le Fay has updated the ROB 344-66/IIIa with a new pickup system that brings together four single coils under three covers. The coils are selectable with a 6-way rotary knob and offer a variety of sounds.

Position one activates the coil closest to the bridge, the next adds the coil closest to the neck for a J-style configuration, and the third position activates only the neck pickup. Positions four, five and six give more of a MM-style with combinations the coils closest to each other: position four includes the two closest to the bridge, position five combines the middle two coils, and position six combines the the two coils closest to the neck. The pickups are matched with active/passive electronics including active bass and treble boosts and a passive treble cut.

The ROB 344-66/IIIa features a body of sandwiched ash and alder as well as a padauk or maple neck that’s reinforced with carbon. As with the earlier version, the new bass has a multi-scale fingerboard and fanned frets. All hardware is produced by Le Fay.

The Le Fay ROB 344-66/IIIa is available now with a price of €3,300 (approx. $4,377 USD). For more info, check out the Le Fay website.
