Earlier this year, Ashdown introduced the ABM NEO series of bass combos and cabinets. Now the company has introduced the ABM-NEO-400-RC, a 400-watt rack-mountable head, to complement the line.
Similar to the rest of the series, the new amp couples the company’s ABM EVO III preamp with a lightweight power amp. It starts with a an instrument input with level control as well as a Passive/Active switch. The EQ section includes Bass, Middle and Treble knobs to boost or cut at 60Hz, 660Hz and 5kHz as well as four sliders to boost or cut at 180Hz, 340Hz, 1.3kHz and 2.6kHz. Further tonal shaping controls include a valve drive, a built-in compressor, and sub-harmonic generator that can all be switched in or out via footswitch.
The amp’s DI, tuner output, and line output are all mounted on the front of the amp. The back of the amp has an additional line output, a footswitch jack, and an effects loop.
The Ashdown ABM-NEO-400-RC is shipping soon with a TBA price point. For more info, check out the Ashdown website.
