Eddie Gomez, John Patitucci & Steve Bailey: Emmanuel

Steve Bailey shared this amazing bass and percussion arrangement of “Emmanuel” so we could share it with you this holiday season.

This arrangement features Eddie Gomez, John Patitucci and Bailey, along with Patrick Simard on percussion.

Here’s the note from this Steve:

From Eddie, John, and Steve, to our esteemed colleagues!

John Patitucci brought the melody and orchestral bass choir, Eddie Gomez brought his virtuosity and groove, and I had a few mics, some dubious chord substitutions, and a fretless… Berklee student Patrick Simard brought some percussion.

In the Spirit of the Holidays (great hangs, great food, and the spirit of giving), we are giving this to you and the rest of the world. We hope you enjoy and feel free to pass it on, forward it, share it, burn it..or delete it. It’s in the public domain and we hope you recognize it.

– Eddie, John, Steve, and the entire Berklee Bass Department

  1. You gotta love it when masters of the instrument break away from it’s traditional role and make beautiful music.

  2. This where it’s at, right here.
