Peter Hook and The Light to Perform New Order’s “Low Life” and “Brotherhood” Albums on Tour

Peter Hook is taking his band The Light on the road once again to continue his streak of revisiting the work of the bassist’s former band, New Order. Hook and The Light started this trend in 2010 by playing material from his first band Joy Division, eventually leading to a chronological progression of albums from his career.

The band will be performing New Order’s third and fourth albums, Low Life and Brotherhood in full as well as the singles and B-sides from that era. It was a fertile time for the band as their hit “Blue Monday” had propelled them into the spotlight by this period.

“I really enjoy playing the albums in their entirety because I think it is something different and gives a different edge to the show,” Hook explained in our interview with him. “Also, when I was in New Order, I had become very tired of just “playing the hits” every single night. I think presenting the album live, as a work of art almost, is great because it demands a lot of concentration not only from the musicians but also from the audience.”

The North American leg of the tour kicks off November 4th at The Mohawk in Austin, Texas before heading to the Northeast to New England. It then crosses between Canada and the U.S. as it heads west, eventually ending up at the Henry Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles, California.
