Ray LaMontagne Releases Supernova, Featuring Dave Roe

Ray LaMontagne: SupernovaLongtime Johnny Cash bassist Dave Roe is holding down the bottom on Ray LaMontagne’s fifth studio album, Supernova.

It’s the first time Roe, a noted Nashville-based session bassist (Jerry Reed, Charlie Louvin, Mel Tillis, Chet Atkins, Dottie West, Kathy Mattea, Vince Gill, Duane Eddy, Faith Hill, and John Cougar Mellencamp) has worked with LaMontagne, who linked up with new players for the album, produced by The Black Keys’ Dan Dan Auerbach and recorded in Nashville.

Supernova is the follow up to 2010’s God Willin’ and the Creek Don’t Rise, which won the Best Contemporary Folk Album Grammy.

The title track, also the first single off the record, is a fun, light tune. Check it out:

Supernova is available on CD and for digital download (iTunes and Amazon MP3.)
