Adrian Belew Power Trio, Featuring Julie Slick, Announces Massive North American Tour
King Crimson alum Adrian Belew has just announced a massive North American tour with his Power Trio, which includes bassist Julie Slick and drummer Tobias Ralph. The tour is the group’s first outing since Belew and Slick started up the Crimson Projekct tour in 2011.
Things kick off on October 22nd in Charlottesville, Virginia before the group crosses the U.S., with a handful of Canadian dates mixed in. While the tour is slated to end at the 20th Century Theatre in Cincinatti, Ohio on December 21st, a press release says more dates are expected to be added in the coming weeks.
Slick has been holding down the low end for Belew for several years now. In our 2009 interview with her, the bassist remarked on playing with him.
“Adrian is a true icon – I realized that the first time I (consciously) heard his playing when I was 14,” she said. “To this day, there are moments on stage that I gaze over Adrian with this look of awe and disbelief. I realize I am extremely lucky to be performing with him, and even luckier to be making new music with him.”
