Rush to Release 40th Anniversary DVD Collector’s Set

Rush: R40 - 40th Anniversary Collector’s Box SetIf you can’t get enough of watching Geddy Lee and Rush play live, then a DVD collector’s set of the trio’s performances being released on Nov. 11 should inspire extraordinary glee as it collects some of the legendary band’s best live moments in one place.

The R40 – 40th Anniversary Collector’s Box Set features live performances from all four decades of the band’s career, including eight songs from a 1974 show at Laura Secord Secondary School recorded when original drummer John Rutsey was still with the band. Aside from that gem from Rush’s early days, the set also showcases a 1997 performance of the seldom-performed seven-part version of “2112” and the band’s 2013 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The set, being released on six Blu-ray discs or 10 DVDs, includes Rush in Rio, R30, Snakes & Arrows Live, Time Machine 2011: Live in Cleveland, Clockwork Angels Tour and the R40 Bonus Disc, the last disc being where you’ll find the secondary school show, the seven-part “2112” and the Hall of Fame induction.

Some extras are featured in the DVD set, such as multi angle takes on “XYZ,” “O Baterista,” and “La Villa Strangiato” on Rush in Rio and several additional interviews and performances on R30.

Both packages also include a 52-page hardback book featuring memorabilia from Rush’s four decades of live performances. Both are available for pre-order (Blu-ray edition and DVD edition).

We can’t wait. In the meantime, here’s the trailer:
